The costs and fees listed here are estimates. They are intended for you to use as a guide in planning your stay in Chicago at the English Language Academy.

*Please Note: Health Coverage is a clinic fee and NOT major medical insurance. ELA students are strongly encouraged to purchase a major medical insurance policy. Students living in university housing are required to pay DePaul's Health Coverage Fee.

Explanation of Fees
Class Fees: $2,950 for Academic Term ($2,750 for Summer Term)	Covers tuition for 4 ELA courses
Testing Fee: $40	Covers the cost of initial placement and Institutional TOEFL exams
Computer Lab/ Materials Fee: $20	Covers the cost of computer lab and photocopying of supplementary handouts provided by ELA instructors
Health Coverage: $60 (optional)	Allows students to use the DePaul health clinic for minor injuries and illnesses
Books: $200 (estimate)	Students will buy their own books at the beginning of the term
Per-course Tuition: $800	Some students may choose to enroll in the ELA courses on a part-time basis. The cost of one course is $800, two courses $1,475, and three courses $2,200

Students may pay tuition in DePaul Central, room 9100, in DePaul Center. The payment center accepts cash, checks, or American Express, Visa, MasterCard and Discover credit cards. Tuition must be paid in full on or before the day classes begin.

Refund Policy

New ELA students may apply for a tuition refund within the first week of the Academy’s term. You must apply for your tuition refund IN WRITING, and we must receive your request by Friday in the first week of the term. Tuition payments and the $300 tuition deposit are refundable. The application fee, testing fee, computer lab/materials fee, health coverage fee, and any postal or courier fees are non-refundable. (Returning ELA students may apply for a 50% refund up to the Friday before the placement exam in a given term.)
