Our elective courses are offered in addition to the regular intensive courses and are not included in tuition costs for the Academy. Students may enroll in these electives along with their regular ELA courses.
Non ELA students may enroll in elective courses. High intermediate level proficiency is required for most courses.
Contact the English Language Academy office for current information about these and other electives. The two TOEFL Preparation courses and Pronunciation Workshop will be offered in Fall 2009.

The Pronunciation Workshop, ELA 100, provides an opportunity for individualized, intensive practice in recognizing and producing correct English - sounds, stress and intonation - in a classroom atmosphere of both fun and hard work. This is a non credit certificate course offered by the ELA. Enrollment in this class is limited to 10.

ELA 101-I is a special introductory course on the new TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) iBT, in which you will prepare for the Writing, Reading, Listening and Speaking sections. Course enrollment includes an Institutional TOEFL adminstration - the traditional paper based test - at the end of the term.
Level requirement: Intermediate and a paper based score of 400.

Time: 10:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m., Monday and Thursday,
9:00 - 10:30 a.m., Wednesday
