Several times a year we offer free ESL classes in late afternoon, taught by student teachers. The classes include English conversation, listening, grammar, reading, and writing. Your teachers are students in a special workshop offered at DePaul University by the School for International Training. (For more information about the SIT TESOL Certificate Program, please visit www.globaltefl.org or call 312-209-3660.) High-beginning to high-intermediate English level students are welcomed to join these free classes, which are not appropriate for very low or for advanced level students.
The next series of these free classes will be March 4 - 27, 2008; July 15 - August 7, 2008; and October 28 - November 20, 2008 - Monday to Friday afternoons from 3:00 to 5:00. If you wish to attend these classes you should plan to come to the class every day, Monday through Friday. The classes are held at the English Language Academy, 17th floor, 25 E. Jackson Blvd. (corner of Jackson and Wabash).
To register for a placement exam, given on the first day of the program, please call the ELA office at (312) 362-6455 during the month before the classes are scheduled to begin. Please note: These free classes, which are offered on a first-come first-serve basis, are very popular and fill up quickly but a reservation for a placement exam is not a guarantee of a place in this class.
